Maurice and Joanna met Bishop Lucas Wafula for the first time in July 2010 when they attended a ministers conference organised by him, in which they taught radical Christian discipleship to hundreds of Kenyan ministers. He is an overseer of various churches in Nairobi and in rural Kenyan villages found in the bush.
In Kariobangi, one of the slum areas in Nairobi, he has founded a church (made up of a basic wooden frame and corrugated iron sheets) as well as a primary and secondry school, where poor children from ages 3-20 are educated. Half the children who attend cannot pay their own school fees, and are payed for by Lucas himself.
We are wanting to relieve Lucas of some of this burden by sponsoring the children in the schools. Just £20 a month will pay the school fees for a single child. If you would like us to mail you a brochure, please send us an email to the address on our Contact page.
